Started in 2000 when community children would come and observe SP children and staff play in the yard. It was then decided that SP would open its doors to these children every 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month at 2-4:30 in the afternoon. The program consisted of singing, praying, feeding, a Bible story, crafts and play time. The number of children ranges from 30 – 100 children.
Every summer a 2-day sports event that involves a breakfast snack, a parade of flag color, basketball, volleyball, Tug-of-War, 100-meter dash, cheer competition, Maria Goes to Market, obstacle course, lunch, afternoon snack, and prizes occurs at SP’s premises. Volunteer teams and families have come alongside SP every year to facilitate this very competitive event.
Vacation Bible School
This is a 2-Day event conducted by friends of SP that come during the summer to teach the Bible, do arts and crafts with the community children
Everything that happens at SP would be futile without highlighting the reason for the season, the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. To celebrate His birth, Samaritan’s Place, individuals, various churches both locally and internationally, and Friends of SP take the time to remember and give thanks by giving gifts to the community children and their family.
